Sue and I were invited to attend a writers’ event at Leeds Trinity University (LTU) – and told we could have a stand for our books –  so we could hardly turn down an offer like that.

The occasion, complete with wine, nibbles and networking, was to celebrate the publication of Inspiring Futures, a poetry anthology that celebrates 50 years at LTU, and former staff and students who’d had work published in the last year were invited.

I’m a former journalism lecturer here – and Sue is a former LTU external examiner – and our debut novel, A Falling Friend, was published nearly a year ago. So we fitted the criteria.
