Happy Birthday to us!
It’s one year today (March 21) since our wonderful publisher Lakewater Press was launched and we’re celebrating with a giveaway of our first novel A Falling Friend, a former Yorkshire Post Top 5.
Our book was the third of three launch titles published by Lakewater, a small boutique publisher, with a worldwide reach, based in Queensland, Australia.
The first two titles were magical YA fantasy In the Blood by RL Martinez and James L. Weaver’s gripping crime thriller Poor Boy Road.
Our book A Falling Friend, described by one reviewer as ‘chic lit with attitude’, followed a month later on April 26.
Since then two further YA novels, Rebecca Carpenter’s haunting Butterfly Bones, and The Life Group, a fast-paced thriller by Maura Jortner, have also been released.
And this month saw the publication of Ares Road, which follows the story of Jake Caldwell, introduced in Weaver’s Poor Boy Road opener.
Next up is The Summer Springsteen’s Songs Saved Me, a YA novel by award-winning short story writer Barbara Quinn.
And, of course, our sequel to A Falling Friend, provisionally titled, Calls Herself a Friend, comes out later this summer.
So, Susan and I are celebrating by giving away three copies of A Falling Friend.
Just like this post to go into a draw to win your free copy.

A happy literary anniversary, can’t wait for Calls herself a Friend. Hope it’s out in time for my summer holiday reading!
You will be chained to the sunbed until you’ve read it! X
Happy anniversary! I love learning about new indie presses. This would be lovely to read for my 52 books by 52 publishers reading challenge, if I were lucky enough to be pulled out of the draw. Congrats!
Thank you – ours is a lovely indie press. Sounds an interesting challenge.
Thanks. I’m really enjoying it so far. Looking forward to learning more about your company.
